AgBr (Silver bromide) – AgBr is insoluble in water, the solvent in acids, and assaults base metals. It is delicate to mechanical shock, scratches effectively, and will cold stream. Will in general obscure when presented to bright (UV) radiation.

AgCl (Silver chloride) – AgCl is insoluble in water and somewhat dissolvable in sodium hydroxide and some amino acids. Not suggested for use at temperatures over 200 °C. It will darken when presented with bright (UV) radiation.

BaF2 (Barium fluoride) – BaF2 is insoluble in water and dissolvable in acids. It has a more extensive phantom reach. It is a generally hard material and touchy to mechanical and warm shock.

CaF2 (Calcium fluoride) – CaF2 is insoluble in water and opposes most acids and salts. It is dissolvable in ammonium salts. Because of its high mechanical strength, it is especially helpful for high strain applications.

CsI (Caesium iodide) – CsI is solvent in water and liquor and somewhat harmful. It has high protection from shock. It is a delicate, hard-to-clean material. CsI is hygroscopic.

KBr (Potassium bromide) – KBr is solvent in water and liquor and marginally dissolvable in ether. It is genuinely safe against warm and mechanical shock. KBr is hygroscopic.

KCl (Potassium chloride) – KCl is less solvent than NaCl. It has a lengthy transmission reach and lower reflection misfortunes. KCl is hygroscopic.

KRS-5 (Thallium bromoiodide) – KRS-5 is insoluble in acids, somewhat solvent in water, and dissolvable in bases. Due to its great transmission range, it is great for ATR applications. The delicate material will twist without any problem. It is profoundly harmful and not hygroscopic.
